Game Of Thrones Season 7: 7 Rumours Confirmed By The Trailer

1. Gendry Returns

Technically, this one lends itself more to the realms of outright speculation, but it's worth mentioning because it does very much fit into the various rumours regarding the character (plus it's so tantalising and exciting).

In the image above you can just about make out that the person to the right (circled) is wielding a large hammer. The weapon is unlikely to be coincidental, since that's the weapon-of-choice of Gendry, much like his father Robert Baratheon before him.

Joe Dempsie was reported to be on set last year, and various rumours have since done the rounds regarding how and where he'll return. Said rumours and sightings also involved a warhammer.

Although there'll no doubt be a lot more to his role (he's going to be showing up in various locations and interacting with plenty other characters), one rumour was that he would be part of the expedition Beyond-the-Wall, led by Jon Snow. Since this appears to be the group we see running, and the one Jon and Tormund are a part of, then it fits that it would indeed be Gendry here.
