Game Of Thrones Season 7: 9 Ups And 2 Downs From 'The Queen's Justice'

8. Jon And Tyrion Meet Again

Before we get to Jon meeting Daenerys, first we have a reunion between the King in the North and one of the show's other major characters, Tyrion Lannister. Season 7 has been quite heavy on the callbacks to Season 1, and here we get the two characters meeting for the first time since another third episode, the first season's Lord Snow.

The pair were great together back then, and even though so much time has passed, it's brilliant to see them together again here. Although the show hasn't made too much of the bond that was struck up between them, save for a reminder in last week's episode, it was clearly visible once they greeted each other.

There were some nice references to the last time they met, and the great sight of Jon cowering out of the way of one of Dany's dragons in there too (and, er, Davos trying to flirt with Missandei?). Game of Thrones is built on conversations and character pairings, and this was an excellent example of that early in this episode.

Also worth mentioning here was the scene between Varys and Melisandre. It's just a brief one, but seeing those interact was intriguing, especially Mel's comment about how she will return to die in Westeros.
