Game Of Thrones Season 7: Did The Night King Really Trap Jon And Dany?

6. Only One Wight Survives

The idea that White Walkers warg into the bodies of their victims as an explanation for their "resurrection" - and their blue eyes, come to that - is a fairly arresting one, and it would have been nice if it had been introduced a little earlier in the show, so it didn't look quite so much like a narrative ass-pull.

It still seems remarkably coincidental that the entire party of wights would cease to be animated when their White Walker leader was slain with the exception of just one. That sort of mathematical coincidence is too much to take even in this world of dragons and zombies, particularly as it makes no sense that a commander would take a wight under the authority of another of the Walkers with him.

They wanted that wight to survive, because they needed him to be captured so that Jon and his party had a reason to call Dany in in the first place.
