Game Of Thrones Season 7 Finale: 11 Big Questions After 'The Dragon And The Wolf'
10. What's Bran's Purpose Now?
Bran Stark continued to be a living Westeros Wikipedia this week, filling in some more backstory about Jon's parentage (though only after prompting from Sam).
He can see anything from throughout history, along with the present, if he knows where to look, but how will that work within the larger narrative of Season 8? Obviously he needs to tell Jon about his parentage, but given the seeming importance of Bran - being one of the five characters initially slated by George R.R. Martin to make it to the end - what else will he do?
As the Three-Eyed Raven he has a rather passive role, observing events without getting too involved, but will that work when it's a character we've known for so many years? Is his role to drop occasional bits of information, likely pertaining to the Night King, and if so what exactly will that be? Or will there be a more active role for him in taking on the White Walkers? We saw the Night King personally kill the last Three-Eyed Raven, and Bran has been marked by him, so there's a potentially a bigger connection to be explored there, and a major role in the war to come (like, say, warging into his ice dragon?).
