Game Of Thrones Season 7 Finale: 9 Ups And 2 Downs From 'The Dragon And The Wolf'

8. Catching Up With Old Friends

Game of Thrones Hound Brienne

The episode begins by setting the stage for the big meeting, resulting in all sorts of little character moments and reunions that nicely play-off the years of history this show has built up.

Chief among these is the reunion of not just Tyrion and Bronn, but Pod as well. Pod's not had much to do this season, but there's no denying how well those heroes of Blackwater Bay all work together, and seeing them all slip back into their same old chemistry was a delight.

An even more intriguing reunion was that of Brienne and the Hound. Both have had the other mentioned to them this season, as a way of laying the ground for this. The result was a surprisingly nice, low-key moment the pair had, and spoke to their shared affection for Arya and clear mutual respect for one another, without any lingering bitterness from their fight: they were really on the same side then, and realise they're definitely on the same side now.
