Game Of Thrones Season 7 Finale: 9 Ups And 2 Downs From 'The Dragon And The Wolf'

6. Jon And Daenerys

Game of Thrones Daenerys Jon

F**k you, Game of Thrones.

The show has always been morally ambiguous, and indeed while that's something it's leaving behind in terms of the greater conflict, it still finds ways of making viewers question who or what they're rooting for.

In this case, it's incest. It's something the show has presented us with before, of course, but then it was with ostensible villains. Now it's with the two main heroes, and it's an interesting quandary to face.

But mostly, f**k them for making me root for this. Jon and Daenerys should be weird, and in a way it still is, but the pair work so well together and make so much sense (ignoring the incest) that it becomes electric viewing, even if it is a nephew banging his aunt.

It's also very important, because it comes in yet another episode where Daenerys talks about not having children - a prophecy Jon immediately rubbishes. It's increasingly likely they will have a child - a song of ice and fire - and we took a huge step towards that this week.
