10. Qyburn Has A Final Solution

Trust creepy, disgraced maester Qyburn to have a solution for fighting Dany's dragons. The genius behind the revival of the Mountain invited Cersei into his twisted mind once more, and fans could have been forgiven for imagining that he'd dreamt up some sort of biological warfare solution using White Walker bodily fluids to extinguish the dragons' fires.

In reality, his solution was as subtle as a brick, and just about as artfully crafted.

The solution that Qyburn had been "developing" for some time, using the best craftsmen in King's Landing was a bloody massive crossbow. Not something magic, or something with any roots in lore, just a big pointy thing to be shot at great speed through the air into the dragons' heads. Because shooting a nimble, flying creature is absolutely simple.

This was supposed to be a method of levelling the playing field, not a reason to doubt Qyburn's sanity again.
