Game Of Thrones Season 7 Premiere: 9 Ups And 3 Downs From 'Dragonstone'
2. Ed Sheeran's Awfully Distracting Cameo
Ed Sheeran's cameo was revealed a few months back, and it was pretty much guaranteed that he'd be in a scene with Arya: the reason the showrunners brought him in was as a gift to Maisie Williams, who is a huge fan.
There's nothing wrong with that, ignoring any opinions of his work, as numerous musicians have made cameos on the show. But none have been so on-the-nose or outright distracting as this.
There's no attempt at covering his face or altering his appearance, which means that it's very obvious we're watching Ed Sheeran, a fact compounded by his character singing when we first meet him.
The scene itself should be a nice little moment, as it gives Arya some of her humanity back (assuming she doesn't just brutally murder them all off-screen), but Sheeran's presence takes you out of it a bit too much, and it's harder to get back in.
