3. The Tone And Pace

Things are getting dark in Westeros. The place has never exactly been all sunshine and rainbows before, but with the endgame fast approaching and a sense of finality to the proceedings, it's becoming even bleaker and more dangerous than ever.

The series perfectly sells the sense of dread that is going to be running through the season and its new characters, but without making it too depressing to stand. There's still an air of defiance, and even a shred of hope, even if most of it is being consumed by the darkness.

The faster pace to the new season - brought about by that move towards the endgame - is also evident in the trailer, given most of what we're seeing likely comes from the earlier episodes. Since we see Jon in two different locations, Drogon in battle, numerous action scenes, and a whole lot more, it's really going to be snowballing this year.
