Game Of Thrones Season 8: 10 Crucial Things That Must Happen
1. Get The Pacing & Logic Right
For the second season in a row, Game of Thrones is going to have a shorter run than usual. Season 7 had just seven episodes instead of the usual 10, and this one has just six.
That led to issues in Season 7: there were a number of problems with pacing and logic, especially with regards to how fast people got around, that felt at odds with how the show had operated before, and felt like they were leaping through things a bit too fast in order to get to the endgame. It's the kind of thing those three extra episodes normally would've helped account for, so there's a reason to worry going into Season 8.
This time, at least, they will know those concerns and have spent more time than before on getting everything right. Most of episodes are longer too, which should help, with the final four all expected to run to around 80 minutes. It's one thing to rush a penultimate season to set things up for the conclusion, but this is now the one with the most pressure on it, and they need to ensure that the pacing and logic are watertight.
