Game Of Thrones Season 8: 10 Things That Were ACTUALLY GOOD

The journey to the end destination of Game of Thrones was rushed to say the least. While the pacing was indeed a major issue, the destination itself made perfect sense within the context of what had come before.

In season 2, for example, Daenerys has a vision of a destroyed King's Landing. Wandering through the remains of the throne room, many viewers assumed this was a warning of the looming white walker threat. By the final episode, however, we realise it was a warning of the threat she herself would one day pose.

This was a neat twist that fit nicely with the Targaryen family history and the dangers posed by dragons returning to the skies.

There are a variety of earlier season clues with the likes of Arya, Bran, Tyrion and Jon that tie in nicely with the closing scenes of the series. Many of these character endpoints had the potential to be worthwhile, appropriate conclusions for their arcs. The issue is in the pacing and lack of breathing room for smaller details and developments.

Season 8 would've been substantially better had there simply been a few more episodes. The tools for greatness were there, just too rushed to be reached.
