Game Of Thrones Season 8 Breakdown: What 'A Knight Of Seven Kingdoms' REALLY Means

Look, this wouldn't be Game Of Thrones without some sort of sexual activity and it's not like we're going to see any in the remaining four episodes when everyone is fighting or trying to collect up the bits of themselves that have been chopped off. So this episode we got the fan-service pay-off of Gendry and Arya's will-they-won-t-they romance.

It was a scene that mattered beyond the titillation because of the shift in Arya's attitude from the last time the pair met. Like her proving to Gendry that she was a fighter, this was another forceful moment. She's dominant. This is not the old Arya Stark.

And this was also a means to give us a more human moment for her after a few seasons of that being stripped away from her. Which is what this entire episode was about - reforging bonds between characters and making us care about them all again. Yes, that's partly because of what comes next, but it's also an invitation to celebrate them.

That too is why we got to see the love triangle between Brienne, Jaime and the ever-incredible Tormund kicked up a notch. To remind us that away from all of the slaying and the doom, this show is still about people and relationships and love and humour. Everyone is horny, basically, but it's so we remember them properly.

And look, it's vulgar and it's hardly an important point, but what on Earth happened to Arya's right nipple? It's as concerning as Beric not getting a hug when he gets back to Winterfell.
