Game Of Thrones Season 8 Breakdown: What 'The Bells' REALLY Means
1. Dany WILL Die
So now we have to ask one thing: what the hell happens next? And one thing is for certain: this cannot end with Dany sitting comfortably on the Iron Throne and everyone else still alive.
The survivors are now basically split into Dany and Grey Worm versus absolutely everyone else and there simply cannot be any possibility that Dany can win and everyone else is killed off. That would be the worst kind of unearned resolution, even if it would sort of fit the show's delight in catastrophising everything.
If we look back, though, Dany does seem to have mapped out her destiny already. In her own words, she had no desire to be the queen of ashes and the moment she chose to relive the history of her father, the Mad King, that's all she could ever be. Jon won't allow her to attack his pack, the people of King's Landing would never accept her as their ruler after what she's done and she has become everything she hoped to avoid over her arc so far.
There can be no ending other than her defeat and death and the more you think about it, the more fitting it is that Jon will be the one to kill her.
