And so ends the time of the swaggering sex pirate. Thoroughly detestable though he was, Euron Greyjoy had lots of potential that was ultimately a little wasted and it may have been more fitting for him to have been killed by Drogon for his murder of Rhaegal.

That said, having the usurper facing off with Jaime was a pretty strong alternative on paper, even with Jaime a shadow of his former self and Euron not quite the fabled warrior he'd been suggested as previously. Naturally, Euron threw as many barbed words as he did blade strokes and it felt right that he would mortally wound Jaime before being killed himself. And the colossal prick even managed to sound happy as his life and his blood drained out of the wound in his belly. After all, he had managed to slay the kingslayer, at least in his own mind.

At least he got what he always wanted: notoriety. Still, in the end, his death wasn't all that great and his fight with Jaime wasn't exactly the stuff of legend.
