Tyrion is definitely making it to the series finale at the very least, since he's one of the big three characters , among the five tipped by George R.R. Martin to make it to the end, and a face of the show.

It's possible that he could die right at the end - and boy would that help make it bittersweet - but there's definitely a role for him in whatever world is left after the battle, and he'd be a very difficult character for the writers to kill off, especially as it's hard to see them killing off more than one of the big three. Perhaps too difficult, really. As a dwarf (one hated by his own father, no less) he perfectly fits with the way those constantly put down are the ones who'll rise highest. Meanwhile, with Jaime and Cersei set to die, there's little point in having Tyrion go too.
