The Night King can't win. For all the ways this series has subverted genre tropes and blurred lines between good and bad, it's highly unlikely that they'd actually end with the White Walkers claiming victory and all life being wiped out.

He will take a lot of people with him before he goes, and in terms of a battle, it's easy to imagine this coming down to Jon Snow vs the Night King (it might seem more like conventional fantasy, but that's the direction the series is headed in).

Jon is the ultimate hero of this show, the closest thing it has to a real Chosen One, and he'll complete that journey by killing the biggest enemy and ending the war.
