Game Of Thrones Season 8 Premiere: 8 Ups And 3 Downs From 'Winterfell'
3. The BEST Reunion And Callback
Of course, through all the reunions and callbacks, there is one that stands above all, and it's that which comes right at the very end of the episode.
With the best beard reveal since Steve Rogers stepped out of the shadows in Avengers: Infinity War, Jaime quietly arrives at Winterfell, thinking he's made it safely and without anyone recognising him... only to turn and see Bran there, staring at him.
It's a brilliant reveal, a superb callback to the shocking ending of the very first episode, and hugely important for the rest of the season. It's not only setting up Jaime's heroic arc, but that look suggests there IS still a bit of Bran Stark in the Three-Eyed Raven, which should play into not only Jaime's redemption arc, but also Theon's when he arrives at Winterfell too.
