After roughly one year, seven months, and three weeks, Game of Thrones is finally, properly, truly back.

It's been a hellish wait for the new season. Yes, we've had the chance to theorise, to analyse every tiny scrap of information, each little tease of footage, and to spend almost two years getting extremely hyped, but there's nothing in television that compares to when Game of Thrones is actually on.

It's the last true watercooler TV show, a monolith that almost feels like part of an otherwise bygone era. These next few weeks are all we have left. It's thrilling, it's joyous, and it's also a little bit sad, and hopefully they make each episode really count.
