Game Of Thrones Season 8: Ranking Every Character Worst To Best

12. Cersei Lannister

Game of Thrones Cersei
HBO

There was no bigger victim of the truncated final season than Cersei Lannister. Despite being the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms, all of the action in the first three episodes is in the North, meaning she's not really involved.

Even when it shifts south, the broader focus is on Daenerys, which again means there's not quite as much for Cersei to do. So it's a good job, then, that Lena Headey is the queen of doing a lot with a little. She can convey more with a look than most can with a monologue, and she brings those skills to the show yet again.

Her denouement, where she stands trapped, pleading not to die, and stripped of all pomp, returns humanity to a character who had long since lost it, making you almost feel sorry for her despite the terrible things she's done.
