The Moment: When three blasts indicate that the White Walkers (referred to the Others in the books) are nearby, Sams patrol heads back to Castle Black leaving the clumsy oaf face down in the snow. As the blizzard draws in, so do the Whites, and Sam, realising he hasnt the dexterity to run, takes cover behind a rock. A blue-eyed White Walker on undead horseback finds Sam just before hundreds more Walkers are revealed advancing past his position and towards the Nights Watch encampment. The Questions It Leaves: Being a season finale naturally heightens this cliffhanger. Audiences have to wait an entire year to find out what will become of Samwell Tarly. Will he die and become a White Walker? Or will he manage to escape this sticky situation?
