In the books, Jon Connington arrives in Westeros (he does not continue on the same path as Tyrion), and as we know he is carrying the disease. Like Jorah in the show, he seems pretty set on keeping it quiet. There is a lot of speculation that Connington will end up spreading the disease, most likely the Grey Plague version, through Westeros. This has happened previously in the Seven Kingdoms, but was confined solely to Oldtown. If it were to spread further across Westeros, it could wipe out large amounts of the population, or even turn them into Stone Men. While the show has seemingly cut Connington out, Jorah could end up taking it with him to Westeros if Daenerys ever actually makes it across the Narrow Sea. Dragons and greyscale?
