5. The Rise Of The Faith Militant

Something that's been lost a bit in the translation to television series is the importance of the Faith of the Seven, and just how much it's shaped Westeros over the years. Long before the events of the books and show, the militant orders of the Faith rose up against the Targaryen rulers, causing untold amounts of damage over the course of eleven years until the Faith Militant's disbandment. Season Five will see the Faith Militant rise again, thanks to some rather poor decisions by a certain Lannister. Cersei's crimes and missteps are all about to come tumbling down around her, as the Faith demand retribution. As such, The High Sparrow, the new High Septon of the Faith played by Jonathan Pryce, will play a major part this season.
