5. Robb Stark
Perhaps the most devastating and shocking aspect of Robb's death was the brutality of it, showcased by the multitude of 'Red Wedding Reaction' videos plastered all over the internet. Even I, having read the books and knowing what was coming, was filled with anticipation and astonishment long before 'The Rains of Castamere' started ominously filling the hall as the doors were slowly barred. Not only was the scene itself shocking, but it was hugely emotional letting the character go. It's fair to say that most people (including myself) were rooting for the Starks throughout the story, particularly Robb as the good guy out to avenge his father and protect his remaining family. He may have made a few dubious judgement calls throughout his brief time as King in the North, but it was a hell of a way to go and a very emotional and shocking end to a great character.
