Game Of Thrones: 10 WTF Moments Of Season 3

6. Joffrey Kills Ros ("The Climb")

Over the first two and a half seasons, Ros became something of a Westerosi success story. From her humble beginnings as a lady of the night in the North, Ros rose to a management position in one of Littlefinger's high-class brothels in King's Landing. Good for her! Sadly, as often happens on this show, the acquisition of power and influence often does not go well for whoever does the acquiring, and she finds herself recruited by Varys into spying on her benefactor. The arrangement doesn't last long. Once Littlefinger learns of her deceit, he sends her to a very particular young man with a very particular interest. He's rather vague about the whole thing, but his tone is oily enough for us to gather that some terrible fate has befallen Ros. As Littlefinger monologues about the opportunities inherent in a state of chaos, the scene shifts to focus on Joffrey, who is caressing a crossbow and gazing dispassionately at something in front of him. He leaves the room, the camera swings around, and...we see her. Ros hangs with grotesque indignity off of the bedpost to which she had been bound, her lifeless body impaled by three crossbow bolts fired into three very important areas of her person. Somebody needs to slap that boy in the face.
