9. The Pork Sausage
The Moment: For the entire run of Season 3 Theon was imprisoned and tortured by an unsuspecting, initially seemingly nice guy (let's not forget Iwan Rheon's previous role was the timid-cum-distant Simon in Misfits). A clear necessity to make him in anyway relatable after a preceding season full of horrific actions, its culmination is so sick you'd hesitate before wishing it on Joffrey. A couple of episodes before Ramsay Snow had threatened to cut off Little Theon, but given his tendencies for mind-games it wasn't confirmed to the audience until the end of the series with a mocking pork sausage.
Why It's So Sickening: Maybe one more for the men, but everyone can at least appreciate the horror of this. Messing with another man's pride is always a haunting thought, but its the casual laughing off that really gets me here. Its on a similar level to Ellen Page taunting Patrick Wilson in Hard Candy. It's not graphic, but damn is it effective. This scene is given extra weight because we've finally learnt who Theons tormentor actually is the bastard son of new Steward of the North, Roose Bolton making it feel like a grim extension (or even warning sign) of the unforgettable Red Wedding.
