10. Mirri Maz Duur Does Murder With Magic
This would be higher up the list if it weren't for the fact that the Dothraki routinely attack villages and such, murdering, raping and pillaging as they go. It is, however, still a truly heinous act when looked at from another perspective. Mirri Maz Duur, a survivor (though far from unscathed) of one such Dothraki rampage, possesses dark and mysterious magical powers. Daenerys, in total contrast to her company, treats the witch with a modicum of kindness and respect, and saves her from the clutches of a thoroughly dissatisfied Mago. In the ensuing fight, Khal Drogo is injured by Mago's blade and develops an infection. Daenerys enlists the help of Mirri and her strange medicine in an effort to keep her husband alive. Desperate to save him, Daenerys agrees to take part in a dark ritual, despite Mirri's warnings that only life will pay for life. Consequently, Daenerys' child is stillborn and Khal Drogo is left braindead - facts that Mirri is all too happy to mock Daenerys over. Deservingly and somewhat appropriately, the witch is burned alive, screaming to her last breath.
