Game Of Thrones: 17 Biggest 'What If' Moments

1. What If Lysa Arryn Refused Petyr Baelish's Advances?

HBOHBOPetyr Baelish isn't an overtly powerful figure in Westeros, before his marriage to Lysa Arryn he held little direct authority, but what he does have is a vast amount of cunning and the ability to easily corrupt, manipulate and control others. If there is one sole person responsible for the chain of events which occur in Game of Thrones, it's likely Petyr Baelish. If he couldn't have Catelyn, Petyr decided he would have her sister in a way, thus he seduced her and planted the idea inside her head of murdering her husband, but what if Lysa Arryn had simply refused Petyr Baelish and his advances? Had Lysa simply refused this schemes, the chain of events as we know it would never have happened. Had Lysa not poisoned Jon Arryn, Eddard Stark wouldn't have been called upon to become the new hand of the king, Robert Baratheon wouldn't have died and there'd have been no war regarding the line of succession. Quite simply, Petyr Baelish toppled the first domino which caused everything else and he's undoubtedly aware of that fact, Jon Arryn's death was just a convenient trigger. Had Lysa simply ignored Petyr, the chain would be broken, but now that his machinations are in motion, he'll not stop until he has 'everything'. Are there any changes that have the widest reaching effects on the world of Westoros? Let us know in the comments!
