Game Of Thrones: 5 Best Moments From 'Two Swords'

1. Arya Gets Needle Back

Ever since Arya lost Needle back in season 2, we€™ve waited patiently for her to eventually get it back. That moment finally came at the end of this episode, as her and the Hound happen upon a tavern where Polliver and his group are staying. All hell breaks loose, and in the chaos Arya takes advantage of the situation and reacquires her beloved blade. In celebration, she breaks it in by sticking him with the pointy end in the exact same fashion as he did to Lommy Greenhands. Another name checked off her list. Who€™d have known back in the first season that the Hound and Arya would make such a great odd couple? Now it seems so obvious. What was great about this scene was the dynamic between the two of them, both in and out of battle. The fight even had some comedic elements to it. Well, as funny as a guy getting stabbed in the head can be. But the best part of this scene is Arya€™s reacquiring of Needle. Not only did it emotionally payoff a plot set up seasons prior, but it also established a thematic purpose. The episode began with the destruction of one Stark sword and ended with the reclaiming of another. A small victory, but a victory nonetheless. Hence, two swords.
