7. Jaime€™s Learning To Fight With His Left Hand

When Jaime said last episode that fighting with his left hand made for more of a contest, what he didn€™t reveal was that he€™d be the one losing that contest. Frustrated at his lack of coordination without his sword hand, he is encouraged by Tyrion to put more effort in practicing with his left hand. T here€™s only one problem: Jaime needs someone to train with, and he can€™t face humiliation in front of the other knights. Fortunately, Tyrion has the perfect, discreet training partner for him: Bronn. Meeting up at a hidden area by the sea (where Bronn also happens to sleep with another knight€™s wife), they begin their training, and right at from the start, we can see Jaime has a difficult road ahead. It€™s obvious that Jaime is never going to be as great a swordsman as he was pre-amputation, but at least now he€™s putting in the work towards improving his skills. Having Bronn as Jaime€™s training partner is an interesting switch from the book (where Jaime trailed with Illyn Payne, the mute executioner), but it€™s ingenious nonetheless. Bronn may have been knighted, but he€™s still a sellsword at heart. As long as someone€™s paying him, he€™ll do whatever they ask of him. Jaime just needs to keep those bags of Lannister gold ready, and Bronn won€™t spill his secret to anyone.
