1. Killing All The Bastards In King's Landing 'The North Remembers'
You could maybe understand why Joffrey killed Ned. At a push, you could understand why he had Ros murder Daisy, and if you were feeling particularly heartless you could say Ros brought her terrible fate on herself by going up against Littlefinger, despite being aware of his cold-hearted pragmatism and masterful game-playing. But killing babies? Yeah, there's no way you're coming back from that. Let's recap after Stannis lets the world know that Joffrey is not the true heir to the throne, but the bastard son of Lannister incest, the boy King is understandably perturbed. But at first glance, you think he's brushing it off, dismissing it as a 'disgusting rumour' when talking to his mother. Then he gets back on with being his regular callous self, and manages to outdo himself so emphatically that even his mother belts him one. You cheer for Cersei (strange enough in itself), draw a line under that scene and look forward to the next. But Joffrey hasn't forgetten. Not even slightly. And come episode close, you're rudely slapped around the face with this realisation as Janos Slynt and the Goldcloaks rudely interrupt what's looking like a formulaic brothel scene and demand a baby Ned Stark was looking at before he was so rudely deprived of his head. And then they kill it. Yet Joffrey's still not done still acting on his orders, the Goldcloaks murder all manner of children, and most of them horribly, all thanks to the King's insecurities. He's clearly bothered by the rumours, and he's not above creating a mountain of dead kids to cover his tracks. What a douche. Frankly, there's no slap big enough, save for the one that can slap him off the mortal coil. Oh wait he's already dead. Hooray! What're your most slap-deserving Joffrey moments? Comment below!
