Game Of Thrones: The Meaning Behind Every Episode Title (Season 4)
Episode 5 - First Of His Name
Tommen 'Baratheon', a character whose dialogue over the entire series up to now probably doesn't fill a page, has succeeded Joffrey as King of Westeros; who'd've thunk it? Tommens part in the show has actually been so small to date, that the actor playing him changed from season 2 to season 4, and, unlike with Daario Naharis, no one even seemed to notice. "First Of His Name" refers in this case to Tommen, as there has never been a King Tommen previously, so his full title is now "Tommen of the House Baratheon, First of His Name, King of the Andals and the First Men and Lord of the Seven Kingdoms". However, as is made fairly apparent in the episode, Tommen is not really in charge and, as with Joffrey before him, Tywin continues to be the one pulling the strings.
