Game Of Thrones Season 5: 10 Most Intriguing Castings So Far

10. DeObia Oparei As Areo Hotah

Described as tall, broad-shouldered and ageing with white hair, Areo Hotah stands on guard of Doran Martell, the brother of the recently murdered Oberyn. DeObia Oparei couldn€™t be further from this description if he tried. Though Oparei is tall (at 6€™6€) and largely built, he is much younger than Areo€™s novel counterpart, lacks a head of hair, and is black. Areo hasn€™t been officially confirmed as caucasian in the novels, though his head of white hair hints at such, leading to official artwork depicting him as caucasian. Areo Hotah hails from Norvos, one of the Free Cities of Essos, though this will likely be altered in season five. Xaro Xhoan Daxos and Salladhor Saan, who both appeared to be caucasian in the novels, were billed has having come from the Summer Islands when first they appeared, whose inhabitants are dark-skinned. A similar backstory will probably be crafted for Hotah. Despite appearing differently to how he is depicted in the novels, no other information has been released about Oparei€™s performance of Hotah. His story will likely see him simply wandering aimlessly after Doran for most of the season, before taking a larger role in the climactic battle which surely awaits us as Myrcella€™s storyline reaches its peak.
