7. Hershel

Hershel may have came across cold and strict at times, he was ultimately the grandfather and moral compass of the group, offering a voice of reason during the manic times of the Governor & Co. His death scene is a fairly similar event in both comics and on TV, though Hershel initially isn't killed by the Governor who hacks at the old man, who escapes. The Governor quickly tracks him down and Hershel meets a bloody end. The iconic scene of Michonne plunging her katana through his reanimated head looks exceptionally similar to a comic book scene, though the head belongs to Tyreese in the comics who suffers a different death to his TV counterpart.
