George R.R. Martin Wants Lady Stoneheart On Game Of Thrones
Is she FINALLY set to appear?
This article contains book spoilers, so proceed with caution or stop reading now. Still here? Great! George R.R. Martin was invited to speak at Medill School of Journalism last week, where he also received an alumni award for his achievements. The author was asked which characters from the books are his favourites and who he would like to see brought to life on Game of Thrones, to which he replied that he would love to see Lady Stoneheart on the show. " was a major storyline in the books," he said. In case you're not aware, Lady Stoneheart is the resurrected version of Lady Catelyn Stark, after she and her son Robb Stark were brutally murdered at the Red Wedding by Walder Frey and Roose Bolton. She was brought back to life by Lord Beric Dondarrion, who gave his life for hers. Even more shockingly to book readers, she has been excluded from the show, with the showrunners also maintaining that she will not appear on Game of Thrones. However, Martin appears to have fuelled the rumours once again which suggest that she may actually appear in Season 6. Martin also said that he would love to see Arianne Martell on the show in future seasons, though it looks unlikely. Of course, he was also quizzed on the fate of Jon Snow, to which he responded by saying: "No comment on that. I'm just saying, read the books." Well, there are only 151 days left until the new season... Sigh.
