Spanning 7 series and one mini series, we spent a lot of time with the Gilmore Girls.

One Gilmore in particular we got to know pretty well. Lorelai Gilmore is the fast talk, caffeine loving quick witted mother of Rory. After falling pregnant young, the fiercely Independent Lorelai gets a job at maid at a small Inn, finding a life for herself and her daughter in the community.

Lorelai is the cool mom, and we followed her through the ups and downs of life as a single-parent. We watched her fall in love and battle with the expectations of her old-money parents.

Throughout the show we often cheered for Lorelai to finally end up with diner owner Luke Dane, though it seemed she might settle down forever with Rory's father: Christopher Hayden.

Lorelai's humour and pop-culture references make her forever young. She was stylish with a love of fast food and 80s music.
