The WB

At the heart of the Gilmore Girls is the relationships between the family.

In the first episode we see Lorelai do something for her daughter that she would never do for herself... ask her parents for money. Lorelai comes to an agreement with Emily and Richard that they would give her the money for private school if she and Rory came for dinner every Friday evening.

For 7 seasons we got to see the often difficult and complex relationships of the Gilmores. Richard and Emily had certain expectations as to how they wanted to Lorelai to be. Lorelai rejected the rich lifestyle of her family in search for a different life for her and Rory. It's after attending Chilton and spending more time with her Grandparents that Rory finds herself trapped between both worlds, often leading to tension.

Ultimately the family do love each other despite all their differences and it's thanks to Lorelai going to her parents for Rory's tuition money that they begin down a road to better understand each other.

How well do you know all of the Gilmores? Can you tell the difference between something that Rory said and what Richard said? Are you able to determine an Emily quote from a Lorelai?
