Glee: 15 Greatest Moments From The Show So Far

14. Burt Hummel Says Goodbye To His Son

This scene is from the first episode of the new season, season 4, and I found it to be incredibly touching. Though the scene is very short and no music is involved, it is incredibly mature and all too real and Burt Hummel who is played by Mike O'Malley is just as good as ever. As he watches his son Kurt leave his car and head off to New York he realizes in this instance that neither of their lives will ever be the same again. His son has grown up, and though he is incredibly proud, he has to find a way of dealing with life without him. As Kurt leaves, unsure of what his future holds in the big city he tells his father that he can always come back home if life doesn't work out for him. Burt replies subtly but full of emotion as Kurt walks away "But you won't". Very rarely has a father and son relationship on television been as touching as theirs is.

I am a recent Screenwriting for Film and Television graduate from the UK. I am an unashamed geek who loves everything Marvel, and anything Joss Whedon has ever touched (except for maybe Alien Resurrection and Titan A.E). My current favorite TV shows are Breaking Bad, Family Guy, House of Cards, Game of Thrones, American Horror Story, Homeland and Glee. I look forward to debating things with all of you in the future.
