Gotham TV Series: 10 Reasons It Can Tie-In To The DC Universe
7. The "Arrow Effect"
By having Gotham the way it is set up, writers are already messing with continuity as we except it. Year One for most of us has been accepted to about Jim Gordon's first year as well as Batman's. A shared Universe would mean that we are too accept Ollie/The Hood/The Vigilante/Arrow/Green Arrow as the world's first "super hero". The show's first season already had people both good and evil that became inspired by his actions. He is an idol for those that wish justice to be done. Right now, I could see him travelling to Gotham and making news in Gotham. After Arrow's presence in Gotham City, people might begin to need a hero of their own, which would cause the GPD to clash with the Starling City Vigilante. It would also create precedent for the future when Bruce Wayne puts on the cowl. In its own way, Arrow is its own backdoor pilot for Gotham. It shouldn't be no surprise than when I bring up...
I'm a fan of pop-culture in all mediums: Music, Film, Gaming, Comics, TV, Whatever. I can generally find something enjoyable in even the worst trash. I guess as a B-Horror enthusiast, I kind of have to.
Currently I'm an author working on a manuscript for a crime novel, and attending school to be an Environmental Health and Safety Technician. In the past I've made a go at running in an election for MLA (Member of the Legislative Assembly) for my hometown of Glace Bay. I was 23 at the time, and though I lost (by like a lot), I learned a lot more about politics in a month than I ever learned.
