Hannibal Season 2: 10 Reasons You Should Be Watching

1. It Desperately Needs The Ratings

Alright, this one is the most mercenary of the reasons, but it is also the most important. Hannibal for its second season has been assigned to Friday nights at 10PM, which is normally considered a "death slot" for low ratings shows on the road to cancellation. The first season did not pull exceptional ratings, but was saved from cancellation due to its strong fan following and relative critical success. But, ratings can always help, and if this show is to fulfill Bryan Fuller's plan of becoming the definitive Hannibal Lecter story, it needs to maintain consistent and growing viewership. The legacy of Dr. Hannibal Lecter is one that is definitely worth following, especially if your following is what allows it to continue. While not yet perfect, this show is miles ahead of most of its peers in Broadcast television, and quite a few of its contemporaries in cable as well. When the second course is served on February 28th, it deserves more guests at the table this time around. Bon Appétit!
