8. Francis Dolarhyde's Love Life

There is one characteristic that differentiates Francis Dolarhyde from Hannibal Lecter; Dolarhyde doesn't want to be a serial killer, while Lecter can't get enough of it. Nothing displays this trait better than Dolarhyde's infatuation with his blind coworker Reba McClane. His love for her drives him to confront the "Great Red Dragon" that is taking over him. Sure, his idea of conquering his inner demon means eating a painting, but that's as close as Francis comes to normalcy. In fact, it's almost admirable for someone as troubled as him to even attempt to be healed. And all this stems from his relationship with Reba. Ralph Fiennes and Emily Watson portrayed Francis and Reba in 2002's Red Dragon, and their scenes together were some of the best in the film. Both roles have been cast for season three, with The Hobbit's Richard Armitage and True Blood's Rutina Wesley tackling the characters. Between these two capable actors and Hannibal's fantastic writing team, the scenes between Reba and Francis are sure to be both heartfelt and nerve-wracking.
