HBO Max's Peacemaker: James Gunn Debunks Rumors Of A New Green Arrow Appearing
Suicide Squad director shoots down recent speculation linking the DC hero to the upcoming spin-off.
The Peacemaker is one of the most anticipated of DC Comics' new TV projects. In the past few days rumors began circulating online about the show possibly bringing a new version of Green Arrow to the mix, but they've been totally shot down by director James Gunn.
The Suicide Squad and Guardians of the Galaxy director took to Twitter earlier this week to rubbish the rumour, stating: "It's nonsense". Gunn then added that the Emerald Archer was his favorite hero growing up and that he'd always wanted to be him when playing Justice League with his friends.
As of this moment the only version of Green Arrow to make the leap to live action remains the one portrayed by Stephen Amell in The CW's Arrow. The show has been cancelled, but the Canadian actor could possibly be down for a possible revival in the future.
Even tough Green Arrow won't appear in The Peacemaker, the show will bring a lot to the table nonetheless. It will see John Cena reprise his role from The Suicide Squad and it's expected to drop in late 2021 exclusively on HBO Max.
It's also the first show to have a connection with previous DC movies, with a GCPD series expected to tie in with Matt Reeves' The Batman following later in the year.
