HBO's Watchmen TV Show: 8 Reasons To Be Excited
3. Returning Fan Favorites
Well, if the series is going to be a continuation, is there any hope of seeing someone they know? An already-established costumed vigilante that long-time fans can feel some familiarity with? While Lindelof's comments on creating something fresh may seem like he's against using any old characters, some new reports confirm at least one awesome inclusion that has already heightened the show's stakes.
Ozymandias, the world's smartest mastermind, is alive and will be present throughout the series. While his role in the series isn't clear, the sheer fact that he'll be a part of it is so amazing to think about because people have seen what he's capable of. Just to make it even better, they've got Jeremy Irons to instill Adrian Veidt with the right amount of pompousness, hyper-intelligence, and suave celebrity persona all in one.
And when you think about it, this is a version of character several decades older. How would someone like Adrian Veidt grow/deteriorate following his horrific acts in the original Watchmen storyline? It'll be endlessly fascinating seeing how he (and possibly others from that time) cope with what they did.
