How I Met Your Mother: 10 Worst Things Robin Ever Did

The finale of How I Met Your Mother was criticised often and severely for a number of reasons. Despite the whole premise of the show being about meeting the Mother, once she eventually shows up she becomes ill and dies in relatively short order, leaving the viewer feeling as though they have been victims of a particularly cruel bait and switch.

Add into this that they spent a season building Barney and Robin's wedding only for them to divorce within ten minutes of screen time and viewers were already feeling like they had been led down the garden path a little, investing years of watching for little reward.

In the very end, it becomes apparent that Ted is simply asking his children for their blessing to pursue his relationship with Aunt Robin.

The one we were told wasn't the mother. The one who treated his partners badly. Who walked out on her friends. Who was consistently unkind and self-centred.

This is the person we are meant to be pleased gets the "happy ending"? None of the characters are faultless, they all behave poorly at points, but Robin is consistently awful and she seems to "win" in the end.

Utterly unforgivable.
