Granted, the last couple of seasons were more of a mixed bag than their predecessors, but this sitcom still provided plenty of chuckles and heartfelt sincerity right through until its final ever episode aired in March 2014.
Like so many other great sitcoms, How I Met Your Mother’s greatest strength was arguably in how it brilliantly balanced its ensemble cast. And when it comes to that ensemble, of course, three of the most popular characters to this day remain Neil Patrick Harris’ Barney Stinson, Josh Radnor’s Ted Mosby and Cobie Smulders’ Robin Scherbatsky.
