How I Met Your Mother: Ted's Relationships Ranked

2. Robin

How I Met Your Mother
CBS

Ted spends the entirety of Season 1, and arguably the remainder of the series, pining after Robin. The two date throughout Season 2. Though they are fundamentally wrong for each other, they still make for a fantastic couple.

Ted and Robin first meet in the pilot, and the two instantly click until Ted lets slip that he's falling in love with her. This weirds Robin out, but the two eventually become friends. After a season's worth of one being in a relationship while the other has a crush on them, the two finally officially get together at the end of Season 2.

Season 2 is probably the best Season of How I Met Your Mother in large part due to Ted and Robin's relationship. They are endlessly entertaining to watch, and are beneficial to each other in the long run. Being with Ted allowed for Robin to learn how to be in a relationship, while being with Robin helped Ted learn what he really wants in a partner. Though the two's split is ultimately for the best, they make a great couple, so long as they don't try to get back together every other season.
