How To Get Away With Murder: How They Got Away With The Murders

7. Robert Winterbottom

A fan favourite murder, if you will. Bonnie Winterbottom’s backstory is beyond dark, with her being sexually abused by her father Robert, as well as rented out to a number of other men as a child. This only stops aged 15, when Bonnie became pregnant as a result.

Robert would eventually be jailed for his crimes, before developing lung problems after a number of years. This would lead to him being moved to a low security prison hospital wing. Frank poses as a janitor to gain access and is able to swap his oxygen supply with hydrogen sulphide, essentially melting his lungs in the process.

It’s not entirely clear why this is not investigated further, as surely questions would raised at any autopsy. Perhaps with the prison service knowing this was a dying child abuser, and with Bonnie dealt the final indignity of being named next of kin, none of the parties were particularly interested in investigating, or put down to another unsolved prison murder.
