1. Making Scott Buck Showrunner Was A Huge Mistake

And finally, there's one major reason Iron Fist's first season was such a big letdown: Marvel for some reason hired Scott Buck as the showrunner.

Buck is infamous with fans of Dexter for being responsible for its huge decline in quality during its later seasons, and it's frankly amazing he was hired to work on such an important property with that reputation hanging over his head.

Given the solid caliber of creative minds the other Defenders shows have managed to rope in, it really feels like Marvel cut some corners here, and the cost is the MCU's first critically-panned project to date. Fingers crossed that Buck isn't asked back for season two.
