Iron Fist: 10 Reasons It's A Massive Disappointment

5. The Lack Of Compelling Villains

This is kind of a deal-breaker even though it's a common problem in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, albeit less so on the TV side.

The majority of Iron Fist's antagonists are of the obvious, moustache-twirling variety, most prominently evil business honcho Harold Meachum (David Wenham), who's more amusing than sinister due to Wenham's over-the-top performance.

Other villains emerge out of the woodwork under the guise of heroism, but unless this is your first superhero TV show, you'll surely see them coming.

The only truly compelling antagonist is Madame Gao (Wai Ching Ho), though she largely hangs around the periphery as there are clearly bigger plans for her in the future.

Though the season finale does set up some interesting threads for what's to come, viewers are largely kept waiting and waiting for a truly imposing big bad that never arrives.
