3. Most Of The Characters Aren't Very Interesting
There are just so, so few characters in this show who viewers can be motivated to give a damn about: Danny is a bore, Joy and Ward are stuck dealing with tedious corporate nonsense and the various villains mostly slot into been there, done that territory.
So, that basically leaves Colleen Wing, who is by far the series' most compelling and well-developed character, and Madame Gao, who has the potential to be an incredible antagonist next season.
The performances are fairly inconsistent for the most part, but it's the ditzy, unfocused writing that really makes most of the characters difficult to warm to.
