It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia: 10 Worst Things The Gang Has Ever Done
1. Completely Ruining A Life
When we first meet Matthew Mara in season two of Always Sunny, he is a promising young priest with an unrequited crush on Dee Reynolds. In his most recent appearance in season twelve, he is a homeless drug addict who has permanently severed all ties with his family in favour of embracing a life of degeneracy.
There can be few more tragic characters in comedy than the creature now known only as Rickety Cricket. He was abused by the gang from a young age, but it was when their paths crossed in adulthood that things really went downhill.
He quits the priesthood in an attempt to woo Dee, and when this doesn’t work he almost immediately becomes homeless. Each appearance sees his situation worsen at the hands of the gang - he is turned into a drug mule and beaten by the mob; he is shot by Frank, burned in an apartment fire, and gets stuck with a hatchet.
Cricket appears to be near enough indestructible at this point, which means he is likely to be tormented by the gang (who, naturally, take no responsibility for his tragic fall) for the rest of time.
